Eddy County emergency management reported multiple vehicle accidents along US Highway 285 between Carlsbad and Loving due to low visibility from blowing dust. Injuries were reported, but no further information was received. Wind gusts were between 60 and 70 MPH in the region. The property damage cost is an estimation.

A broad western United States trough and an intense surface low pressure over the central Great Plains resulted in westerly high winds and blowing dust over a large portion of Southeast New Mexico and West Texas.
