Event narrative

An EF-0 tornado with max winds of 75 MPH touched down briefly in Gramercy, LA starting near Hwy 3125 and continuing northeast. A few homes, along Millet Dr had minor roof damage and most homes in the neighborhood having fence damage. One bumper pull RV was thrown or rolled approximately 100 feet. Debris was noted to be lofted into a field northeast of Millet Dr as well as some splatter seen on the east-northeast side of homes. The tornado is estimated to have ended before US Hwy 61 though it's possible the tornado continued into the Maurepas Swamp Wildlife Management Area. The continuation of this path was not supported by radar nor high resolution satellite imagery, and was inaccessible to ground survey.

Wider weather episode

The first of 2 surface lows moved into the Red River Valley which drew a stalled frontal boundary over the northern Gulf northward as a warm front in the morning hours. Doing so brought fast warming trend along with a definite moisture increase. Instability in that warm sector was further enhanced by daytime heating. Every severe weather parameter was moderate to high with this system, so there is not surprising to have widespread reports of wind, hail, and multiple tornadoes.
