Wider weather episode

An anomalously deep surface low pressure system over the central Plains created a very strong pressure gradient across southeast Missouri. From mid-morning to mid-afternoon south southeast winds gusted 35 to 45 mph throughout most of southeast Missouri. The lone exception was over the Ozark Foothills. The strongest gust, 45 mph, was measured at the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport (KCGI).
