EF0 Tornado — Jack, Texas

Event narrative
A tornado formed approximately 3.5 miles southeast of Jacksboro, near the intersection of Fields Lane and U.S. 281. The tornado formed in open pasture south of Hwy 281, then moved northeast and impacted 2 manufactured homes along Fields Lane, producing light roofing and siding damage. The tornado crossed Hwy 281, producing damage to a commercial building system and another manufactured home on the east side of 281. The tornado tracked northeast over mostly open pastureland, crossing U.S. Hwy 380 southeast of Jacksboro before dissipating. The most significant damage occurred to the commercial building along Hwy 281, consistent with high end EF-0 intensity winds of 80 mph.
Wider weather episode
Multiple upper level shortwaves moved overtop the Plains contributing to the development of severe storms near and along a cold front and dryline on and off between the 18th and 20th. Large hail, damaging winds, flash flooding, and tornadoes were all observed, particularly on the 19th. A total of 12 tornadoes occurred along and east of Highway 281 causing considerable damage: 1 EF-2, 5 EF-1s, and 6 EF-0s.
