Wider weather episode
Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms developed/moved east into East Central Colorado during the early evening. The main threat with these storms was straight-line wind gusts, with the highest reported gust being 67 MPH reported north of Clarkville. Some of the thunderstorms produced hail, with the largest reported being quarter size near Wauneta. As the storms moved toward the east border, they produced an outflow boundary from the straight-line winds. This boundary began to produce blowing dust before exiting Colorado.
