Trained spotters and MDOT report several lanes on the outerloop of I-695/I-97 south of Baltimore are impassable due to water on roadway.

Wider weather episode

An area of low pressure moved along a slow moving cold front bringing numerous showers and thunderstorms to Maryland. Multiple rounds of heavy rain occurred throughout the afternoon and evening. Total rainfall amounts of one to four inches were observed where flooding occurred.
