A late-evening round of severe weather occurred across northwestern into west-central Oklahoma on the 26th. Thunderstorm activity was focused near and beneath an upper low aloft (i.e., cold temperatures), promoting a sufficient overlap of instability and lapse rates for large to very large hail.
