Thunderstorms developed over the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles during the evening of the 1st, as an upper level disturbance approached the Southern Plains. The thunderstorms moved east during the early morning hours of the 2nd, and became more widespread over eastern Oklahoma and west central Arkansas along a frontal boundary. The strongest thunderstorms produced large hail to quarter size and damaging wind gusts.
