A 9 foot rise from 228 feet to 237 feet in 1 hour was observed between 425 and 525 PM at the stream gauge Hunter Mill Estates Regional Pond.

Slow moving showers and thunderstorms amidst weak flow aloft resulted in flooding and flash flooding across portions of northern Virginia. Localized rainfall totals of two to four inches in about 90 minutes were observed along and north of I-66 towards the Potomac River.
