Beaufort County Emergency Management reported a lightning strike to a tree that started a fire that spread to a power pole at the intersection of Parker Drive and Trask Parkway.

Wider weather episode

Clusters of thunderstorms developed along a stationary front and impacted portions of southeast South Carolina during the morning hours. A few of these storms produced damaging wind gusts, hail, and lightning strikes.
