Event narrative
Strong thunderstorm winds knocked down a few trees in the area along with wires and snapped a pole. The damaging winds were associated with the strong outflow boundary from the storm.
Wider weather episode
A trough of low pressure and associated cold front moved through the area during the afternoon and evening into an environment with sufficient instability and shear, along with supportive conditions for mixing down of strong winds. Showers and thunderstorms developed with some storms becoming strong to severe producing locally damaging winds and hail. A strong outflow boundary from one of the storms produced several reports of damage as well.
