Event narrative
Many hard and softwood trees were snapped with some trees on powerlines on Highway 8.
Wider weather episode
An area of severe storms pushed into the Brainerd Lakes region just after midnight on the 23rd and pushed to the northeast across the Minnesota Arrowhead while turning into a bow echo. While there were a few hail reports, this system was predominately a wind producer with numerous reports of trees down along the path of the storm. A measured wind gust of 59 mph was recorded near Tamarack.
