Widespread wind damage swatch with numerous trees down across the northern portion of the county. Damage continues further east through Dawson county. Wind estimated over 90 mph with observations of 89 mph.

Wider weather episode

A line of thunderstorms moving quickly along a cold-front tapped into significant low level shear and instability to cause widespread and significant wind damage across swaths of north Georgia. Winds of nearly 90mph were observed even as the line weakened.
