A man was paddleboarding at Porter Beach when he fell into the water and became distressed. The Porter Fire Department's dive team rescued the man via helicopter.

Strong winds on the 21st generated high waves and deadly currents on southern Lake Michigan beaches, resulting in several water rescues. The Michigan City C-MAN station was regularly reporting wind gusts between 30 and 40 mph during the afternoon out of the south.
