During the early morning of June 22nd, a long lasting mesoscale convective system (MCS) tracked southeast out of Canada, crossing the St. Lawrence River and into the north central New York area. The MCS contained severe thunderstorms within the system that caused wind damage across much of the area from near the St. Lawrence River to areas east and southeast of Lake Ontario.
