Event narrative
The initial front of the storm brought sustained winds of approximately 75 mph, confirmed via Kestrel measurement. These winds were accompanied by a torrential downpour in Colorado City, resulting in rapid flooding in the immediate area. The initial downpour lasted approximately 45 minutes and produced street and highway flooding, with standing and moving water measured at approximately 3-5 inches in most areas, generally still traversable by passenger vehicles. Approximately 15 minutes after the rain began to lessen, reports of flooding were received for Interstate 25 at Milepost 77 and Milepost 70. Milepost 70: Flooding slowed traffic but did not result in any reported traffic accidents. Milepost 77: Flooding rendered the interstate temporarily impassable to most vehicles, with large debris present on the roadway and several traffic accidents reported. Within approximately two hours after the storm passed, water had fully receded from all roadways, and no further significant closures or incidents were reported.

Heavy rainfall of 2-3 inches led to flooded roadways and parts of I-25 shutdown around and a few miles northeast of Colorado City.
