Well-above average temperatures, coupled with humid conditions, allowed for heat index values to range between 100 and 105 degrees during the afternoon and evening hours of July 29 and July 30, 2025 across Lebanon County. Muir Airfield at Fort Indiantown Gap (KMUI) reported multiple hours of heat index values between 100 and 105 degrees during the afternoon and early evening hours of both days, with little recovery during the overnight hours.

An expansive upper-level ridge allowed for increasing heat to begin during the afternoon hours of July 28, 2025 with maximum heat and humidity beginning to take hold over central Pennsylvania during the afternoon and evening hours of July 29th and July 30th. High temperatures in the mid-to-upper 90s across the Lower Susquehanna Valley, with dew points in the mid-70s allowed for heat index values to approach 105 degrees across portions of Dauphin County, with much of the Lower Susquehanna Valley topping out with heat index values between 100 degrees and 105 degrees.
