Report of street flooding at the Canal St underpass and Broad Street from heavy thunderstorms.

Wider weather episode

A mesoscale convective system developed in the morning across southeast Louisiana as a weak upper level system passed overhead. A deep cold pool aided in a quick progression east across the area but back building of convection overwhelmed drainage systems in New Orleans.
