Event narrative

Heavy rain resulted in flooding across northern Amarillo. Two cars were stalled at a low water crossing near Jason Avenue and Oak Drive It appeared that water was roughly about six to eight inches deep at this location. Water also flooded the parking lot of David's Mexican restaurant on Hastings Avenue, where water depth was around six to eight inches deep.

Wider weather episode

A line of storms moved through the central Texas Panhandle. Ample atmospheric moisture allowed for heavy rain to occur which resulted in localized flooding.
