There was a report of wind damage one mile southwest of Benton. Large limbs were blown down and an outbuilding was completely destroyed. Time was estimated from radar.

Wider weather episode

Isolated thunderstorms developed across portions of south-central and southeast Kansas during the early afternoon hours of July 6th. Thunderstorm coverage became more-numerous during the mid to late afternoon hours across south-central Kansas. These particular storms produced severe caliber hail and damaging winds.
