The public reported an 8 inch diameter tree limb snapped near Rochester.

Wider weather episode

During the late evening hours on July 28th, a line of intense thunderstorms moved into southeast Minnesota and produced severe wind gusts along with widespread wind damage. Most notably a wind gust of 76 mph was observed at Rochester International Airport along with several other wind gusts over 70 mph across the region. Storms eventually moved south and east into Wisconsin and Iowa as they weakened overnight.
