Event narrative

Local broadcast media relayed photos of storm damage from CR 1200E west of Woodworth. Corrugated metal roofing was removed from a cattle shed and a portion of one of the walls collapsed. Wooden building material was found protruding from the ground. Damage to corn was also noted on the property.

Wider weather episode

During the afternoon and evening of the 16th, a series of severe thunderstorms produced widespread damaging winds and instances of severe hail around the western and northwestern Chicago metro area.
