Event narrative

All the west-facing air conditioner units at a hotel were pushed inward due to strong thunderstorm winds. In addition, a trailer was rolled over and a large tree was blown onto power lines.

Wider weather episode

A cluster of thunderstorms intensified over Logan and Macon counties during the pre-dawn hours of August 19th. One of the cells produced a downburst with 80-100 mph winds and significant wind damage in the town of Maroa in Macon County. Strong 70-80 mph winds also caused damage further south in Forsyth on the north side of Decatur.
