Public reported trees down near Sams Club and Rooms 2 Go in Covington.

Persistent low-level moisture and weak convergence along a frontal boundary that had been stalled over the local area for days once again supported the development of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Model soundings indicated a dry slot aloft along the northern periphery of much more moisture to the south. It was here that a storm was able to capitalize on that setup and produce a severe downburst of winds.
