Drought — Vinton, Ohio
2025-10-01 to 2025-10-31 · Vinton, Ohio
Wider weather episode
The month of October started out with a pocket of moderate to severe drought (D1 to D2) in eastern Washington county, moderate drought (D1) in northwest Perry and northwest Vinton counties, and abnormally dry (D0) conditions in Athens, Jackson, northern Meigs, Morgan, southeast Perry, southeast Vinton, and western Washington Counties.
A cold front brought one to two and a half inches of precipitation across southeast Ohio on October 6th and 7th, allowing conditions to improve to D0 or better in all except a portion of eastern Washington County. Another front ushered rain and storms across the area on the 19th, bringing an end to the last pocket of D1 in Washington County. By the end of the month, only a couple pockets of D0 remained in Perry and Washington Counties while the rest of southeast Ohio was no longer affected by drought.
