Strong Wind — Bossier, Louisiana
2025-10-25 · Bossier, Louisiana
Wider weather episode
A complex of showers and thunderstorms developed during the evening through the early morning hours of October 24th-25th, ahead of an upper low pressure area that progressed east from New Mexico into Western and Central Texas. While these storms were stronger and in some cases, severe, over portions of North Texas, reduced instability across the Four State Region allowed these storms to weaken as they moved through East Texas and North Louisiana during the early morning hours on the 25th. However, as these storms diminished from west to east across the region, a wake low developed on the backside of these storms, producing wind gusts of 40-50+ mph across portions of East Texas and Northwest Louisiana. Some minor tree and power line was reported in Bossier City from this wake low.
In Caddo Parish, a 53 mph wind gust was measured at the Shreveport Regional Airport as the rain ended at 848 am.
In Bossier Parish, a power pole was snapped downing power lines on Melrose Avenue at Airline Drive in Bossier City at 930 am. Several large branches were also snapped along Airline Drive near Willow Chute Bayou in Bossier City as the rain ended at 930 am.
