Emergency management reported many streets on Tybee Island impassable in a least one or two spots, including Catalina Drive, Chatham Avenue, 9th Street, Billfish Lane, Alley Street, and the intersections of Lewis Avenue and 6th Street, 7th Street and Jones Avenue, and 10th Street and Jones Avenue.

Wider weather episode

Strong northeast winds resulting from high pressure inland and developing low pressure offshore along with astronomical influences associated with a recent full moon and perigee, led to coastal flooding along coastal Southeast Georgia. A maximum tide level of 10.35 ft MLLW (2.85 ft MHHW) was observed at 1036 AM EST at the Fort Pulaski tide gage during this event. Moderate coastal flooding typically begins along much of the Georgia coast when tide levels reach 10.0 FT MLLW (2.5 ft MHHW) at Fort Pulaski.
