An arctic cold front that swept through the Ohio Valley resulted in rain changing over to snow on the evening of November 9th, setting forth the first winter weather event of the 2025-2026 season. Precipitation transitioned from rain to snow in the West Virginia lowlands late on the evening of the 9th, followed by the mountains just before midnight. Snow showers then prevailed throughout the day on November 10th, with one last batch of snow wrapping up shortly after daybreak on the 11th.

The highest snowfall totals were measured in Nicholas and Fayette Counties, where upslope snow showers bumped up accumulations to around 7 to 8 inches on the morning of November 11th. Elsewhere in the region, locations in the lower elevations measured 1 to 4 inches of snow and similarly in the northeast mountains.
