Event narrative

The report was relayed through mPING.

Wider weather episode

A weak upper storm system helped trigger widely scattered thunderstorm activity across Oklahoma and western-north on the evening of the 23rd. Sufficient wind shear and instability promoted organized thunderstorm modes, including a few supercell thunderstorms, during this episode. In addition to a hail and wind-producing thunderstorm along the Red River, a notable supercell moved across the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area, producing numerous reports of large to very large hail.
