Winter Weather — Northwest Pocahontas, West Virginia

2025-11-27 to 2025-11-28 · Northwest Pocahontas, West Virginia

Wider weather episode

A cold front crossing through West Virginia during the late night hours of November 27th introduced significantly colder air and moisture from the Great Lakes. This resulted in isolated snow showers along the highest peaks of the northeast mountains, coupled with wind gusts as high as 51 miles per hour, which was measured at a Mesonet station in Snowshoe. Snow amounts remained generally under an inch with this event, but the highest accumulations were measured in southeast Randolph County of 4 inches. Snow showers were whisked away by the evening of November 28th as approaching high pressure cut off moisture fetch off of the Great Lakes.
