Most WYDOT sites between Elk Mountain and Arlington along Interstate 80 reported constant strong winds between 58 and 78 MPH. Peak gust of 78 MPH occurred at Strouss Hill, northwest of Laramie.
Wider weather episode
Potent upper level jet stream drifted back over the region for December 11th after a brief lull in the winds. Strong wind gusts between 60 to 75 MPH were common, especially in the wind prone areas.
