The ASOS at the Goodland Airport (KGLD) recorded wind gusts of 60, 62, 66 and 68 mph. The 68 mph wind gusts occurred on three occasions.

Wider weather episode

Numerous wind gusts ranging from 58-81 mph occurred across northwest Kansas. The strongest wind gust of 81 mph was located 10 NE Wallace in Logan county. Zero visibility in blowing dust was also reported 3 NE Seguin in Sheridan county which led to the closure of Highway 24.
