An Ambient Weather Station named My_Weather which is located in Rexford recorded wind gusts of 70 and 76 mph; a WeatherUnderground station in Rexford also recorded a 68 mph wind gust. A WeatherUnderground site named KKSCOLBY28 located 9 N Page City recorded a 69 and a 70 mph wind gust. A mesonet station named FW6347 Colby 2E recorded wind gusts of 59 and 67 mph. The AWOS at the Colby Airport and the Kansas Mesonet site named Colby which 1 WNW Colby both recorded wind gusts of 58, 59 and 63 mph.

Wider weather episode

Numerous wind gusts ranging from 58-81 mph occurred across northwest Kansas. The strongest wind gust of 81 mph was located 10 NE Wallace in Logan county. Zero visibility in blowing dust was also reported 3 NE Seguin in Sheridan county which led to the closure of Highway 24.
