Heavy lake effect snow fell on parts of northwestern Indiana as a compact system of low pressure moved east of Lake Michigan on the 9th and into the 10th. A majority of Lake and Porter counties received over 8 inches of accumulation. The highest totals were in Lake County where some areas received 10 to 12 inches of snowfall. 4 to 7 inches fell on northern portions of Newton and Jasper counties.
