A period of light snow spread across all of northern Illinois during the afternoon of December 1st and continued through the late evening, affecting the afternoon commute. Snowfall amounts were generally 1 to 3 inches for areas north of Interstate 80 and 2 to 4 inches for areas along and south of Interstate 80.
