Snow began across northern Illinois during the late evening of December 6th and continued into the morning of December 7th. A large swath of 5 to 7 inches fell along and north of a Dixon to Evanston line with 3 to 5 inches falling south of this line to Interstate 80. Rockford Airport measured 5.8 inches and Chicago O'Hare Airport measured 4.8 inches.
