Snowfall amounts ranged from 4.2 to 5.5 inches. A Travel Advisory was issued for the county due to the impacts of snow on road conditions.

Wider weather episode

A quick moving mid to upper level trough moved through central Indiana on December 13th producing widespread snow across central Indiana. Snow began during the morning hours with the heaviest snowfall rates during the afternoon, before eventually tapering off into the evening. Moderate snowfall amounts of 3.0 to 5.5 inches were common, but mesoscale snow bands aided by frontogenetical forcing produced local amounts as high as 6.0 to 6.9 inches.

The Indiana State Police Indianapolis District responded to more than 300 crashes and slide-offs near the time of the event. Any accidents responded to by local entities would have been in addition to this number.
