Trees were reported down in the Rogersville and Florence area as due to gradient wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph.
Wider weather episode
A strong cold pushed across northern Alabama and southern middle Tennessee just before and after midnight on December 28th. Strong wind gusts developed as the front moved across portions of northwestern Alabama as it did so producing wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph. This knocked down some trees in the Rogersville and Florence areas.
