Lake effect snow developed during the early evening of January 30th across far northwest Indiana and continued into the early morning hours of January 31st. Storm total snowfall amounts included 11.0 inches near Dune Acres; 10.0 inches in Porter; 9.0 inches in Chesterton; 8.0 inches three miles southeast of South Haven; 7.8 inches near Valparaiso and 6.7 inches near Hobart.
