2026-01-25 to 2026-01-26 · Lewis, New York
Wider weather episode
Widespread synoptic snow caused a moderate snowfall across Western and North Central New York on Sunday January 25th through the most of the day on Monday January 26th. Snowfall was the result of a couple of passing surface lows over the region, including a stronger coastal low. Lake enhancement and upsloping caused greater and more prolonged snow to fall closer to the lakes. Widespread snowfall amounts of 6 to 10 inches were observed across most of the Buffalo forecast area, with higher amounts of 10 to 16 inches reported closer to the lakes.
Some of the notable snowfall reports include: 17.5 inches in Oswego, 16.0 inches in Penfield, 15.0 inches in Hilton, 13.4 inches in Eden, 13.2 inches in Sodus Point, 12.9 inches in West Carthage, 11.5 inches in Adams, 11.3 inches in Wyoming, 11.0 inches in Stafford and Lowville, 10.7 inches in Lockport, 10.0 inches in Cheektowaga and 8.0 inches in Medina.
