Light freezing rain resulted in a glaze of ice on untreated surfaces. A school bus carrying a high school girls' basketball team flipped on its side on State Highway M-553 between Marquette and K.I. Sawyer, resulting in a road closure. There were two minor injuries (indirect). Key impacts: transportation delays, traffic accidents, school closures, road closures.

A band of light freezing rain moved west to east across the UP during the afternoon and evening of the 6th into the early morning hours of the 7th. Although amounts were light, a glaze of ice resulted in treacherous travel conditions on untreated roadways. A few traffic accidents were reported, including a school bus carrying a high school girls' basketball team that flipped on its side between Marquette and K.I. Sawyer.
