Dare county 911 reported a waterspout northwest of Bodie Island Lighthouse moving towards Wanchese.

Wider weather episode

A stalled frontal boundary with very moist and unstable air lingered across the North Carolina coastal waters from July 29th to July 31st. Several waterspouts were reported along the Outer Banks.
