In Hernando County, freezing temperatures were recorded at inland locations for 2 hours. The coldest temperature recorded was 30 degrees at the mesonet site 2 miles northeast of Weeki Wachee.

Wider weather episode

A weak cold front moved across the Florida peninsula on the 24th, with several days of northwest winds behind the front causing persistent cold air advection. By the morning of the 27th, temperatures over the inland Nature Coast had fallen to just below freezing for a few hours. No crop damage was reported.

In Levy county, freezing temperatures were recorded at inland locations for 2-4 hours. The coldest temperature reported was 27 degrees at the mesonet site 2 miles west of Inglis.

In Citrus County, freezing temperatures were recorded at inland locations for 2-4 hours. The coldest temperature recorded was 28 degrees at the mesonet site 4 miles east of Chassahowitzka.
