Highlands County 911 Call Center reported railroad crossing gates knocked down onto a road due to strong thunderstorm wind gusts.

Wider weather episode

A moist air mass south of a stalled frontal boundary across the northern Gulf of Mexico provided instability for afternoon thunderstorms along the Gulf Coast of Florida. Many of these storms produced damaging wind gusts. Also, one storm caused lightning damage.
