The coldest air of the season thus far surged into the region on north-northwest winds. Substantial lake effect snow resulting in northwest Lower Michigan, during the daylight and evening hours of the 23rd. Six to ten inches of snow were common in central Leelanau, eastern Grand Traverse, western Kalkaska, and northwest Missaukee Counties. Fife Lake picked up the most snow, 10 inches.
