A Miller type-A low pressure system moved up along the South Carolina coast bringing widespread heavy snow to the northern NC Piedmont, NC Foothills, and southern NC Mountains. Most areas saw 5-9 inches of snow with up to a foot in the higher elevations near the Blue Ridge Mountains.
