Another round of damaging winds buffeted eastern Colorado, in and near the foothills from Fort Collins south to Pueblo, as well as portions of the adjacent plains. Total damages estimates were at $13.8 million, This estimate also included damage to areas in southeast Colorado. Several homes were damaged as shingles were blown off roofs. Large pieces of a roof were torn off a strip mall in Lakewood, a suburb southwest of Denver, damaging several cars in the parking lot. More trees, power poles and power lines were downed causing scattered outages throughout northeast Colorado.Peak wind reports included: 98 mph (85 kts) at the National Wind Technology Center, 7 miles west of Broomfield, 97 mph (84 kts), 2 miles north of Estes Park, 95 mph (82 kts) at Carter Lake, 92 mph (80 kts) at the CU Campus in Boulder, 91 mph (79 kts) at the NCAR Mesa Lab, in the foothills southwest of Boulder, 86 mph (75 kts) at Jefferson County Airport, 80 mph (70 kts), 21 miles north of New Raymer, 76 mph (66 kts) at Padroni, 75 mph (65 kts) at Merino, 73 mph (63 kts) at Golden, 72 mph (63 kts) at Woodrow, 71 mph (62 kts) at Fort Morgan and 4 miles east of Haxtun, 70 mph (61 kts) at Broomfield and Fleming, 69 mph (60 kts) at Kirk, 66 mph (57 kts) at Akron, 62 mph (53 kts) at Sterling, and 59 mph (51 kts) at Limon.
