A spring storm, finally dropped heavy snow to areas in and near the Front Range Foothills, alleviating the drought conditions and associated fire danger that prevailed through much of the winter season. In the mountains and foothills, snowfall totals included: 22 inches at Coal Creek Canyon, 20 inches at Wondervu, 19 inches at Allenspark, Genessee, St. Mary's Glacier and the Mount Evans Research Center, 18 inches at Klondike, 17 inches, 8 miles northwest of Evergreen, 3 miles east-northeast of Nederland, Idaho Springs and Tiny Town, 14 inches at Georgetown and Doubleheader, 13 inches at Blackhawk, Intercanyon and Morrison, 12 inches at Aspen Springs, Floyd Hill and Rollinsville, 11 inches at Chief Hosa, with 10 inches reported at Boulder Canyon, Conifer, 2 miles north of Foxton and North Turkey Creek. Along the Urban Corridor, snowfall totals included: 13 inches, 4 miles northwest of Larkspur, 10 inches, 5 miles east-southeast of Sedalia, 9 inches at South Boulder, 8 inches at Highlands Ranch and Wheat Ridge, 7 inches at Littleton and Parker, 6 inches at Golden, with 3 to 5 inches reported around the rest of the Denver Metropolitan Area.
