Event narrative

Flooding occurred along Scuffleton Highway just west of the Big Satilla Creek along the Bacon/Pierce county line. The cost of damage was unknown, but estimated for the event to be included in Storm Data.

Wider weather episode

The Little Satilla River rose quickly to minor flooding due to slow moving, heavy rainfall producing thunderstorms. The river gage just downstream of of the 3-6 inches of rainfall rose 6-7 ft. It took almost 24 hours for rainfall runoff to reach the gage and 48 hours for the crest to pass downstream of gage.
