Event narrative
Trees and power lines were blown down NE of Alma. Wind damage also occurred to a few storage buildings.
Wider weather episode
Deep layer ridging was building westward from the Bahamas, which brought more mid level dry air over the local area. Dry air entrainment into scattered sea breeze and outflow driven thunderstorms increased downdraft magnitudes and caused widespread wind damage in severe storms.
